Cable TV Set Up
A CTV set up is far more elaborate and equipment intensive than the DRS. A larger antenna and more sensitive LNB is advisable to start with, a 16' dish preferably and a LNB of say 28 degrees Kelvin. Sometimes a still larger dish, 20' or more in diameter, may be used. But the expense involved may hardly be justified, unless the intention is to receive signals from a drifting satellite, or a satellite at a low angle of elevation. You would need a CONTROL ROOM to install the HEAD END equipment, those between the leading cable from the LNB and the DISTRIBUTION cable output to the customers. The Control Room, (CR), equipment receives the signals from the LNB(s) of dish antenna(s), and from other TV antennas to receive local TV transmissions, converts the 950 to 1450 MHz LNB output signals into suitable VHF TV channels and combines the selected programme signals on to a coaxial cable, for distribution to the customers spread out in the locality, through the distribution network.
